Fasted cardio or not?

In the last month, I have started to incorporate fasted cardio (exercise on an empty stomach) into my workout plan to see if it really would make a difference to me. Initially getting up and in the gym for 6am was tough, but I soon began to look forward to it! So before smashing down my breakfast like I normally would, I would hit the gym for at least 30 minutes (as well as my walk/cycle to the gym!) on an empty stomach.
The aim of this?
To use my bodies fat stores for energy instead of using my glucose (carb stores). My personal goal is for fat loss, so for me is ideal to help me reach my goal HOWEVER, some people believe it may increase the loss of lean muscle mass.
Overall, fat loss relies a lot on your diet and not just your exercise regime. So don't think because you've burnt off that extra 400 calories doing fasted cardio, that you can eat an extra 400 calories back.
So what have I gained so far from doing fasted cardio? As well as dropping 4lbs, increasing my fitness level and generally feeling leaner, I am also full of energy & no where near as hungry as I used to feel! For me this has worked wonders, and I will continue to do fasted cardio at least 3 times a week, however it doesn't mean it'll work for everyone. The main point to consider here is as long as your diet is also in check, fasted cardio should work for you as well, whether that is a 20 minute walk, run, swim, cycle - anything to get your heart rate up!
Why not give it a go & give me some feedback on how you get on over the next 4 weeks
